Vung Tau is an old port town to the southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, developed under the French as a seaside resort called Cap Saint Jacques. Known as Cap St. Jacques by the French, VungTau is a popular weekend get away for Ho Chi Minh City residents. Depart from Saigon to Vung Tau, we visit:
Thich Ca Phat Dai Pagoda: this is a hillside park of monumental Buddhist statuary built in the early1 960s. It is a must-see site for domestic tourists.
Statue of Our Lady of Bai Dau Vung Tau with charming scenery: is a complex of works including a statue of Our Lady and a holy temple located on the slopes of Big Mountain, in Vung Tau city. Visiting the statue of Our Lady in Vung Tau, visitors will admire the unique architecture and relax with the poetic natural landscape here.
Giant Jesus: This 30m-high Giant Jesus statue was constructed in 1974 by the light house. The statue can be reached on foot by a path that heads up the hill.
